UPDATE: Point Lowly camping fee planned for summer
Whyalla Council hopes a proposed camping fee at Point Lowly will end overcrowding of the popular recreation site.
At times, more than 100 people are keen to use 45 campsites and the council says some overstay a 14-day limit.
Council CEO Peter Peppin says a $5 per day camping fee might be a way to solve the problem.
“We’re seeing this as just a regulation process that we’re going to put in place for the forthcoming summer,” he said.[/quote]
