Lloyd Jones Weir Free Camp is a large secluded area located 9 kms West of the Landsborough Highway among the trees on the banks of the Alice River. The weir is 14 km from Barcaldine, 4 km south of Barcaldine (Landsborough Highway) turn west onto Barcaldine – Isisford Road and follow for 9 km to the weir. The last kilometre unsealed but in good condition.
The Lloyd Jones Weir Free Camp is a beautiful spot, with plenty of room, clean toilets and a dump point with hose, picnic tables and fireplaces.
Located on a disused dam on the Alice River which was constructed in the 1950s to provide water for nearby vegetable farms and orchards.
