Lake Elphinstone is located 24 kilometres South East of Glenden or approximately 92 kilometres West of Mackay.
Lake Elphinstone is located in a coal mining area so the roads can be busy at times with large trucks. Potholes are prevalent should be approached with caution.
The Lake Elphinstone free camping area has flushing toilets, showers, tables, chairs and a few electric BBQs.
Lake Elphinstone provides a popular camp site and is used for a number of aquatic activities including water skiiing, boating and fishing. Unfortunately there is no potable water at Lake Elphinstone so you will need to bring your own.
~ Many thanks to our new friends Ken & Kay from Rockhampton for introducing us to Lake Elphinstone.
